Dr D. Pylarinos (ORCID) has been a member of EOS CULTURAL ASSOCIATION since 2014 and a member of the board of directors since 2026. He has a diploma and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece.
He is currently the Sole Partner and Manager of PUBETA, a private company based in Greece.
He has been the Editor-In-Chief of the bimonthly open-access international journal “Engineering, Technology & Applied Science Research” (published by PUBETA under the aegis of Eos Cultural Association) since the journal’s first issue in February 2011.
In the past, he has worked in various positions/roles (Researcher, Consultant, Engineer, Head of Section) in the Electricity Distribution and Transmission sectors for the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO) and for the Public Power Corporation (PPC).
He has published over 70 scientific articles (over 40 as the first/leading/corresponding author) in conferences and journals as well as three books (one of them published by EOS and publicly available at our Publications page).
He has taught several ECE courses in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Technological Educational Institute of Crete (TEIC) (currently the Hellenic Mediterranean University) and in the Vocational Apprenticeship School of Heraklion Crete.
He has also worked as a Computer and Information Technology Trainer for the Greek Ministry of Education and as a freelance editor for Cactus Communications Pvt. Ltd. He also served as a Networks & Systems Engineer for the Hellenic Army General Staff during his military service.
He has been a reviewer for several international journals including “Electric Power Components & Systems” (Taylor & Francis), “International Journal of Electrical Power and Energy Systems” (Elsevier), International Journal of Physical Sciences” (Academic Journals), IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation” (IEEE), “IEEE Signal Processing Letters” (IEEE), “Iranian Journal of Science and Technology: Transactions of Electrical Engineering” (Springer) and “Energies” (MDPI).
Outside the academia/industry, he has edited the folklore book “Bricktrap” (published by Eos Cultural Association). He is a strong supporter of the OA movement and has signed the Cost of Knowledge protest.
